Become a Self-Published Author

The Self-Publishing Companion Program

Do you have a book within you that you're dying to share with the world?

That’s exactly the spot I found myself in several years ago.

It all began in November 2012, when I decided to take part in NaNoWriMo. (Click the link if you’ve never heard about the writer's equivalent to the Olympics.)

I had been writing for over a decade, but only short, non-fiction pieces. Somewhere underneath all the uncertainty, lack of information, and fear was a novel that really really really wanted to be born.

It took much more than just that one month to have a polished novel, but all that momentum I had built during writing, revising, and polishing came to a dead halt when the book was as good as I (and my editors) could make it. I had no idea what to do next.

How on earth was I going to get this file from my laptop to Amazon? And then into the hands of readers?

That’s when the work I consider to be the most difficult began.

Fast forward several years, three published novels, and an intense education in the wide, often wacky, world of Independent Publishing.

Now, I’d like to share all that knowledge with you. To be...

Your guide on the side

Your Sherpa up the Everest of publishing

Your coach to take you from a polished manuscript to the design, distribution, and promotion of YOUR book.

I’ve spent hundreds of hours learning the ins and outs of the process that leaves many writers struggling, overwhelmed, and ready to give up. I know. I see it all the time in the various writing communities I belong to.

The Self-Publishing Companion Program will teach you how to:

  • beautifully design both the inside and outside of your manuscript (interior design included as well as inexpensive resources for attention-grabbing covers)
  • decide where to sell your book
  • easily create banners, blurbs, and promotional materials that pull readers to you
  • create the various files required for digital, paperback, and hardcover versions of your masterpiece
  • garner interest and reviews even before the book is available
  • use the various selling strategies – freebies, discounts, group giveaways, bundling, series, etc…

Here’s the thing. All this information is available on the internet. You can give yourself the same education I gave myself, complete with months of searching, studying, and trial and error. But if you’d like to spend more time writing your next masterpiece than getting a deep dive into the complex world of publishing, then getting some help might be in order.

There are also plenty of books and pre-packaged courses out there. They can absolutely decrease a lot of the legwork. They provide you a general path to follow that has worked for others.

What I found in my own journey is that I wanted a partner. Someone to…

  • answer my questions
  • bounce ideas around with
  • help me choose which path is best for my book
  • help me refine and communicate my specific vision

Things you can’t do when you’re following a generic set of steps.

The Self-Publishers Companion Program is for you if

  • you want to give your book the best chance it has to fulfill the vision you have for it.
  • you flourish with human interaction, encouragement, timelines, and personal guidance.
